Umpires Wanted

Spokane Indians Youth Baseball is hiring umpires for the upcoming 2024 baseball season. These umpires will be employed by Spokane Indians Youth Baseball. Umpires will receive compensation for games worked as well as training.

• SIYB Will Provide Umpire Gear (Mask, Chest Protector, Shin Guards, etc.)
• Zero Tolerance Policy for Parents
• Work as Much or as Little as You Want To

Two of the biggest hurdles of starting to umpire baseball is the cost of gear (anywhere from $300-$500) and the fear of parents yelling at officials. SIYB has taken care of both of these issues. Umpiring through Spokane Indians Youth Baseball, the organization will provide new umpires with umpire gear. Also, SIYB has a “Zero Tolerance” Parent Code of Conduct Policy that will be strictly enforced this year. Fans will not be able to address the umpire in a negative way or they will be removed from the premises.

Interested applicants must have a driver’s license and a reliable form of transportation to get to games. Prior baseball experience and love of the game is preferred but not required. Interested applicants should email info@siyb.org for more information.
