Spring 2024 Coed T-Ball/Coach Pitch (Ages 4-8)

The SIYB recreational league is a great options for kids who are new to the sport and want to learn and have fun. SIYB offers T-ball for ages 4,5 and 6 and coach pitch baseball for ages 4,5,6,7 and 8 as of April 30th. It is an opportunity for kids to meet new friends, learn baseball skills and develop a sense of team. The recreational league additionally allows kids to build foundational sports interpersonal skills like active listening, cooperation and teamwork.
 
SIYB provides uniforms, helmets and catchers gear for teams. Parents are allowed to sign up their players individually and will be placed on teams based teammate requests, coach requests or teams within their home area.

SEASON DATES: APRIL 8th – MAY 23rd
  • Practices start the week of April 8th
  • Opening Game Day & Picture Day Saturday April 20th Plantes Ferry (google maps)
  • Games start the week of April 22nd (10 games)
  • Season may extend due to field availability and makeup games

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

Register on or before March 7th for priority placement. Coach request and player requests may not be available after the deadline. **Registration after March 7th will be a waitlist registration

DIVISIONS & FEES:

  • 6u Coed T-ball (ages 4,5,6) $115 per player
  • 6u Coed Coach Pitch (ages 4,5,6) $115 per player
  • 8u Coed Coach Pitch (ages 6,7,8) $115 per player                       

PRACTICE/GAME INFORMATION:

  • 6u T-Ball and Coach Pitch – practice/game days Mondays/Wednesdays
  • 8u Coach Pitch – practice/game days Tuesdays/Thursdays
  • 10 games, game start times 6pm
  • Opening Day Saturday April 20th includes 45 min game and pictures

Players are assigned to teams based on the high school area chosen in the registration. If there is no team directly in the player’s area, then we will assign to a team that is nearby. Each team will be assigned a home field in their area where they will play at least half of their games. We will make every attempt to schedule other games as close to home as possible. Depending on the number of teams in each area, we may not be able to avoid scheduling games in another part of town.

PRACTICES:

  • Practices will be twice a week for the first two weeks of the season
  • After games begin, teams will not have scheduled practice times
  • The Volunteer Coach picks the practice day/location
  • Coaches will contact players after the coach’s meeting

SIYB UNIFORM INCLUDES:

  • Hat, jersey, and game pants

PLAYER PROVIDES:

  • athletic shoes, a glove and a bat

DICKS SPORTING GOODS WEEKEND: March 29 – April 1 (stores closed on March 31)

SIYB PROVIDES TEAM:

  • Gear Bag (will be turned in at the end of the season)
  • Box of baseballs for each team

COACHES MEETING:

  • Equipment pick-up @ SIYB Storage: March 28th – 29th, time 3:00pm – 6:00pm

VOLUNTEER COACH:

  • A Volunteer Head Coach is needed before a team starts – All SIYB coaches are volunteers. For more information, contact info@siyb.org
  • Volunteer T-Ball/Coach Pitch Head Coaches receive 50% off their player’s registration. The 50% refund will be issued after the season starts.
  • Volunteer Coaches will need to have a current background check and Abuse Prevention Certificate on file with SIYB
  • Please be patient. Your coach will contact you once they receive the roster after the coaches’ meeting.
