
Spring 2026 Softball 8u Coach Pitch (Ages 6-8)

8U Coach Pitch Softball is the perfect introduction to the game for young beginners. This recreational league offers a fun, supportive environment where players learn softball fundamentals, build confidence, and experience the excitement of team play. Kids sign up individually and are placed on teams based on requests or their local Spokane/Spokane Valley area.
Each player receives a full uniform, and coaches are equipped with all necessary gear to make getting started easy. If your child is ready to learn the game, make new friends, and enjoy a season of growth and teamwork, 8U Coach Pitch Softball is the perfect place to start.

SEASON DATES: APRIL 13th – JUNE 4th
- Practices start the week of April 13th
- Games start the week of April 20th (8 total games)
- Weekend Game & Picture Day Sunday April 26th Plantes Ferry (google maps)
- Season may extend due to field availability and makeup games
REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
Register on or before March 12th for priority placement. Coach request and player requests may not be available after the deadline. **Registration after March 12th will be a waitlist registration
DIVISIONS & FEES:
- 8u Coach Pitch (ages 6,7,8) – $125 per player
**a non-refundable 3% banking fee and a $1 service fee will be added at the time of check out**

PRACTICE/GAME INFORMATION:
- Volunteer coaches will schedule the practice location and time with SIYBS on their scheduled day.
- Total of 8 scheduled games.
- Games will start at 6:00pm on their scheduled day (except for weekend game on Picture Day).
- Schedules are estimated to be released by April 8th.
8u (Coach Pitch)
- 8u will have practices on Tuesday and Thursday for the first week of season
- Starting the week of April 20th, practices will be on Tuesdays and games will be on Thursdays
- 8u teams will have a 45 minute Weekend Game & Picture Day on Sunday April 26th Plantes Ferry (google maps)
- Please Note: 8u Picture Day has been moved to Sunday, when previously scheduled for Saturdays. This is in an effort to alleviate the shortage of parking at Plantes Ferry on these days and to reduce wait times for photos.
Players are assigned to teams based on the high school area chosen in the registration. If there is no team directly in the player’s area, then we will assign to a team that is nearby. Depending on the number of teams in each area, we may not be able to avoid scheduling games in another part of town.

- Gear Bag (will be turned in at the end of the season)

COACH INFORMATION:
- Coaches Meeting – March 31st at 6:00pm – Zoom Link to be emailed out to all coaches
- Equipment Pick Up – April 1st-2nd from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at SIYBS Storage
- Equipment Return – June 9th from 2:30pm – 6:30pm at SIYBS Storage

VOLUNTEER COACH:
- A Volunteer Head Coach is needed before a team can be built
- All SIYBS coaches are volunteers. For more information on how to become a volunteer coach, contact info@siyb.org
- Volunteer Rec Head Coaches receive 50% off one player’s registration per team coached. The 50% refund will be issued after the season starts.
- Volunteer Coaches will need to have a current background check and Abuse Prevention Certificate on file with SIYBS.
- Coaches will contact registered players after rosters have been posted..
